Jenna's Birthday!

 Happy Birthday Jenna!!! It was so fun being able to have the Smith family here and be able to celebrate Jenna's birthday with them! Katie planned a really fun birthday party for her, and we had a great turn out! All the Burks were here, which makes for a big birthday bash!

 Before we sang Happy Birthday we went outside and played musical chairs. It was so fun, and Brookie won, not that it is all about winning, but her fun expression after winning is what is so fun about it! Afterwards we came in and sang happy birthday to sweet little Jenna.

 We got to decorate our own cupcakes and Katie had all sorts of yummy toppings as you can see from the picture below. There was lots of frosting to choose from, sprinkles, and of course candy....including our on of our family favorites, gummy bears!!

Then they act all silly after they eat the topping filled cupcake!! 

 All the kids were super excited that they got to decorate their very own cupcake, especially Brookie! This was a whole new experience and one that she hoped to do for her next birthday! Brookie LOVES planning her birthdays early :)

Next we opened presents! One of the first things Jenna opened up was a package of gum, afterwards she shared a piece of gum with everyone, which of course was the whole package of gum. She was just so happy to share, and it was just super cute! 

Jenna also got a new Princess Belle crown, but she wasn't so much a fan of the crown, but she still shared the crown with everyone as well!!!

Jocee decided she was going to have her own little fun while Jenna was opening presents. She was loving blowing milk bubbles in the laundry room! 

These other pictures I was trying to show just how many people there were, but it just doesn't doe justice. We had so many people, Ashley and Carl were hiding from the crowd I guess, but it was definitely a full house, but full of love and fun!! 

Ryan and Pax

I thought I would take pictures of Paxton, but then all the kiddos jumped in with him! Ryan loves Paxton, but is totally cool about everything. He is a pretty chill boy. I keep expecting to see some changes is Ryan but he has adjusted really well with Paxton. We loves his brother and is excited to play with him! 

Easter 2012

 Every year I LOVE getting everyone a new outfit for Easter Sunday. I really don't know why I love it so much, but its just so fun getting new dresses and trying to look our best for Easter Sunday. Well Saturday was our friend Sasha and her mom's baptism and afterward we headed down to the valley. It was a fun trip, and I loved being able to spend that day with my little family, just getting away from all the business and just having it be us! 

We did have an egg hunt in the morning, and the kids were sorely disappointed that there were not toys in their baskets. I wanted to focus more on Christ. So they each got a picture of Christ that had a little child in the picture that best resembled themselves. Ryan was pretty happy about that and showed everyone that that "this is Jesus and Ryan." Brookie was excited to put hers in her scriptures. We also got them little ctr bracelets and we also got them Bible stories that they can listen to and play games on the computer. But all day Brookie kept asking why the Easter bunny would bring other kids toys but not them.... :/ wasn't sure how to answer that one.....

Aaron had grabbed the camera after the kids were ready and took them outside to get pictures. He was teaching them how to fake laugh and these are the results... not bad!

I like this one of Jocelynn... I could hear the kids from my bedroom and I am pretty sure all of Globe knows how loud Ryan can be.... still he was being super cute!

Family pictures.... you say the word and I instantly think there is no possible way to get a great family photo. Most of the time I have a hard time with kids and getting them to look at the camera or stay posed or getting them to stop being silly.... yes I do have to do that with my kids but the problem lies more so in Aaron... and here is proof!! Most of the time I have to tell parents to just keep their head up and looking at the camera and smiling, I have tried that with Aaron. I don't know maybe he thinks that the camera wont catch him speaking to the kids or LOOKING DOWN, or moving or I don't know, its usually his eyes, we can't keep them open! But whatever I have to deal with with my kids its usually with Aaron too. I LOVE YOU HUNNY!! (doesn't he look Chinese in the one above?)

Overall it was a great Easter! 

Girls....& Boys Night!

Well Aaron is still serving in the Young Men as the Scoutmaster, which means he does campouts once a month. I have realized that when I am more willing to let him go it goes by faster and I tend to have more fun. Well this time I had sorta mentioned to the Young Women that I would have a girl party and they jumped right on that, except then when it came to Friday they all had realized that it was a rival baseball game, but I still had three young women show up, one being my sister in law! But we had a blast. We had facials, and manicures. I think that even Ryan enjoyed it... just don't tell daddy we did his nails too! ;)

Ryan Michael Burk

Ryan came Sunday morning at 12:34!

He was 7lbs 15 ounces, and 20 in.

Dr. Spencer with Ryan... He is an awesome doctor!

These were our awesome nurses, minus one... Kim is holding Ryan, she took care of us the most, then behind is Dawn, and Kaitlyn, Corri is the missing nurse. They did such an aweome job taking care of us. They were so fun. Corri and Kim helped with the delivery and they are best friends, and they were hilarious! It made the time go by fast and just made the experience even better!

Me and Baby!!

Brookie didn't know what to think about baby brother at first, but eventually warmed up. She is going to be a good big sister, she likes to give him food, and loves giving him his binky and blanket.

"Hold it..." Is what she likes to say!

Ryan and I are doing great. We got home yesterday and things have been going pretty smooth. He is a good baby, he enjoys sleeping and eating! Brookie has been really good and just loves to know where he is at all the time. I am really lucky to have Aaron home for the summer, he just makes me happy! I have a great family... and I have kids!! haha

The Beginning

Yesterday morning I was having some contractions so I had Aaron check me and there was lots of blood that came out, so I called the hospital, and they told me to come in. I got Brookie all ready to go to Grandmas and we went to the hospital.  They admitted me and did all of the questioning. I wasn't having any strong contractions and when they checked me I wasn't dilated at all, so needless to say they sent me home. I was pretty bummed about it, but the nurse did say that I was closer than I thought and she wouldn't be surprised to see me soon, so that made me a little happier! So we went back to Aaron's parents house and just hung out there the rest of the day. Through out the day I was having some really strong contractions though and they were beginning to be 3 minutes apart, but I didn't want to go to the hospital just to be sent home again. Well everyone wanted to go to the drive in so they took Brookie while Aaron and I went for a walk. That was nice because Aaron and I just got to talk and have our own time. He helped me to feel like everything was going to be okay. Well that night the contractions got stronger and stronger and I just wanted to go to bed, and and 1:00 am I was woken up by how strong the contractions were. So I woke Aaron up and told him I thought it was time, and I called Julie to have her come down. On the way to the hospital I called and they told me just to stay home and time the contractions but since I was already on my way they told me I could come in. Well again they admitted me and checked me and still NOTHING. I couldn't believe it, so I asked if they could just start me on something because I didn't want to keep having crazy contractions and not have a baby. Well the nurse called the doctor and when she came back she told us that because there was another patient already started that I would have to wait till she was done, so I could either stay at the hospital or go home and they would call when they were ready for me... of course we went home although I was nervous to go home because I felt so embarrassed. Okay so that brings us to today! So this morning on the way home from the hospital we stopped and got an Icee and Aaron let me get a Recess King size candy. After sleeping for like 3 hours we got up and talked to Julie about everything. I just felt so embarrassed. Julie knew how I felt because it happened to her so kept telling me not to feel sorry and that its just a hard thing, so it helped me to feel a little better. Well after she went home Aaron gave me a blessing. It was a very sweet blessing. He told me that everything would be okay and that the delivery would be quick and with no complications. He also told me to read my scriptures every day and if I did I would be blessed with patience. It was a great blessing and it made me feel a lot calmer. Well we went into the hospital around 2:00, and they admitted me. They gave me these two little tiny pills and around 4:00, the pills help soften the cervix to help me dilate.. after about 4 hours they check to see how dilated you are and if you are at a 4 at least then they will start you on pitocin, if not then they give you the pills again, luckily I was dilated enough that they started me on pitocin, and broke my water. The nurse (Kim) was so awesome and she kept telling me I could get an epidural at anytime, and that I shouldn't wait to see how far I can handle the pain. Well I did anyways and I don't know why I did! The pitocin was causing some pretty hard contractions so I asked for the epidural. I got it at around 10:00 p.m. and it was awesome. It made me really thankful for whoever thought of it! But it also made me really appreciate those pioneer woman and even woman today that can't have one, they really had to suffer! Well at about midnight I was starting to feel like I needed to push so I called the nurse in and she said I was only at a seven, well as soon as the nurse left I started really feeling the need to push that I started to cry. When the nurse came back in she said I was at a 10 and he was down and ready to come out! Well so the good news is I am ready to push and get this little boy out... the bad news.... the doctor isn't there yet and he lives across town. Ya.. I had to wait till he got there. He took about twenty minutes which while waiting I was yelling and in very much pain. I don't know for sure if the epidural just doesn't work from the waist down, but I could feel everything! As soon as the doctor came we got all ready and I pushed for five minutes and our little boy was out! It was such a relief and it was another great experience! We thought his name was Connor so all day we were calling him Connor, but in the end we named him Ryan Michael Burk. He weighed 7lbs 15 ounces and was 20 inches long. He is such a perfect and sweet baby! He loves to cuddle with his mama, and he is a great eater! We love him very much and are so excited to have him part of our family... and we feel very lucky that he is with us!  

Well I just thought I would take a moment to say what I am so thankful for.

First..... I am so grateful for nurses and doctors.

Second....... I am thankful for pictures, especially sonograms

Third........... I am grateful to be able to know that we are having a healthy baby BOY!!! YEA

We had scheduled an ultrasound for this last Friday, and we were so excited. We have to go to the hospital here to get ultrasounds, but the nurse was so nice. She was an older lady, but she just loves her job. The nice thing about living here is that we are not being squeezed in or being hurried out. We were in the room for an hour just looking and watching the baby, he was so cute, and she gave us ten pictures. Anyways, after we found out I had mixed feelings. What am I going to do with a little boy? Brookie lets me play with her hair, and get her all pretty, you can't do that with boys so much! hahaha. Anyways, we really are excited though, and we even picked out a little outfit! yea.... anyways that all about that!
